So here we are kids.
A blog for you, on a site that I don't blog on regularly. I guess we can call this the tour journal...even though I am using some capital letters in this lowercase journal. I'll change that up from time to time.
Tour Club.
First rule of Tour Club: Don't fart in the van.
Second rule of Tour Club: Don't fart in the van.
Third rule of Tour Club (probably the most important rule): We share the load.
So far, Massachusetts has been pretty good. It's cold and it's snowing, but I am managing. I enjoy staying in a hotel for free. It's wonderful. Better than that...breakfast. I know it sounds crazy, but I really love me a huge breakfast. It helps my day so so so much.
I like my tourmates (all two of them). They are all Southerners, which is a little weird...good, but weird. My stage manager, Michelle is from Tennessee and lacking a Southern dialect. My acting buddy, Jon is from Montgomery and we happen to have a friend in common. Small world it is my friends.
Rehearsals have been going fairly well. We're a little behind, but we just have to nail down these lines. The problem is that there are so many props in this show. It's an hour long show with enough props for an entire one act festival. On top of that, being off book the very first day would have helped a whole lot. We are still doing fine...in fact, I think we are going to murder the show.
I'm totally sweating my butt off doing these rehearsals in the "dungeon" (picks and such to come soon). I'm juggling, dancing, and being silly like there's no tomorrow. I think it's obvious that I am not the straight man in this comedic duo.
It has been great hearing such great feedback from our director Adam, even though we are slightly behind. We are about slightly more than halfway through the show after two days. By Thursday, we should have it all set and on Friday, we'll run it. Adam's giving us feedback that indicates to us that the writer/creator is going to wig out in a good way.
This is only the beginning of a pretty good show. I just wonder if I'm going to have the stamina for it. Oh well, you can always build stamina right?
Sidebar. What's the worst part about doing this? I think it's the fact that I have a $400 check on me, and I still haven't cashed it/ deposited it yet. I went to some places and they won't because the address on my ID doesn't match up with the address on the check, because I still have an AL ID and have been receiving checks at my NY address. I have to find a Wachovia in the near future (tomorrow morning...as I write this on a Tuesday night) to deposit it.
What's the best part? I don't have one...yet. Things seem to get better as the time goes by.
Anyway...
Later days
