special two-part edition...
first, on a serious note:
has anyone caught the story of the dallas police officer pulling over a man (who just happens to be an nfl player) and his wife who ran a red light to see their dying mother.
if not, click here
i was eating breakfast earlier today when the story was being re-aired on good morning america. after the story, some random guy in the lobby said "that's the way they train 'em."
if that's the way they train them, then NWA was right: "(expletive deleted) the police"

now, on to other things...the fun, ridiculous, and whatever
everyone, everyone...it's that time again. time for march madness and so far the tourney has been the opposite of thrilling. the teams that were supposed to win, did win. there were no major upsets...which is a little upsetting.
anyway, how's the tour coming along?
tour's great. we left carrollton, ga for birmingham, al for a weekend. it was a lot of fun being back in familiar territory even if for a couple of days. i didn't get a chance to see everyone that i wanted to see (sorry), but maybe next time.
i did see my parents and grandmother however. that was great and i got a sweet potato pie out of it which was...delicious.
but after the salty ham (birmingham), we journeyed to louisville, ky but we did make a pitstop to see my dear ol' sister for a bite to eat in hunts-vegas (huntsville) which was enjoyable.
then moving on to the 'ville (louisville, ky), home of the louisville slugger, maker's mark, and some guy named cassius clay...oh wait the champ, the greatest...muhammad ali.
we did 10 shows in 5 days which isn't bad at all. much better than the 11X4 in carrollton. but i do have to say that there was some amazing stuff going on...and i don't mean amazing in a good way. children do freak out quite a bit after the show, they want autographs, hi-fives, and even hugs; and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade girls go beserk with their crushes and whatnot, but never have i ever witnessed this type of stuff happening.
i shake some kids hands and the 3,4,5 grade girls scream like i was Elvis or something...it was weird and deafening. one class told me that their teacher "liked" me. the teacher (who looked about my age) blushed in embarrassment and tried to wave it off. it was funny, but then again it's always funny when students call out their teacher.
i may go into hiding after every show.
but before all of this happened, right after the show...when the first group of students were lining up to leave; not even 3 minutes after the show, a fight breaks out. not just any fight, but a kid no older than 9 beating with his fists on another kid...let's keep this in mind, right after the show and this particular group had not even stood to line up yet.
it was the coldest thing i have ever seen. truly a shame.
