the month of rants, outbursts, and random appearances

okay, it's been a few days since the vma's in nyc and all i gotta say is that september is the month of the tirades, outbursts, and stage crashes.

don't believe me...

1) rep joe wilson basically screaming "liar" during president obama's speech.
2) serena williams at the u.s.open
3) roger federer at the u.s. open
4) kanye west (nothing more needs to be said)
and last but not least, and it still confuses me...

5) lil mama jumping out on stage during jay-z and alicia keys performance at the vma's.

i won't go into joe wilson, because i don't get into politics like that, so we'll move on to the u.s. open.

i don't know why people are so into serena williams' tirade. she is a very passionate person when motivated...she's obviously loud (do you hear her grunts while she plays?) and the thing is that she wanted to win. she wanted to win bad...this does not justify her tirade. but occasionally in the world of tennis, we celebrate athletes and their anger (john mcenroe will ride that wave until he dies) i think that it is interesting to see a woman tennis player get so angry that she threatens to shove a ball down someone's throat.

which leads me to roger federer. he is quite possible the coolest head in tennis (and one of the greatest players of all time), but athletes apparently have a breaking point. he went down to using profanity to a judge in the middle of his match, that he eventually lost. he's been hanging out with tiger woods a little too much lately. tiger throws a fit when he's not winning nowadays, slamming his club on the ground and saying a lot of profanities. i expect derek jeter to snap next, in order to take out the trio of gilette spokesmen.

the mtv vma's. granted i didnt' watch any of it, because i don't have cable where i am, but i heard all about it. but before i go on...let's have a little laugh.

word on the street is that kanye was sipping a little too much (like an entire bottle) of hennessey. which explains this assumption: if he wasn't drunk...chances are that he would still be talking while taylor swift stands there with her award, because he's done it before.

i just caught an interview with curtis jackson (aka 50 cent, but he's trying to kill that moniker), and he said that "if it was me, i would have blacked his eye", which he may deserve but taylor swift isn't going to do that. if pink won the award, she probably would have given mr west more than a black eye (probably a broken face)

beyonce did her thing later on and gave taylor a chance to finish. in short, kanye showed his a$$, while beyonce showed her class.

but at the same time, i think kanye had a point (he just never addressed it). most award shows nowadays want to make the fan happy, there's fan voting categories and more diverse competition. i think that most of these awards shows may think of it as a bad thing to see someone go home with all of the awards. i as a fan wouldn't want to see that.

remember the craze that single ladies created? it truly was a phenomenon and if a video happens to turn into a phenomenon, then that video may deserve to win all of the awards. plus, ask yourself this question: how does beyonce win video of the year but not best female video? in my world the winner of best female video competes with the other categorical winners (male, pop, rock, hip hop) for video of the year. it's only logical.

but then again, mtv hasn't been logical for some time now.

lil mama crashed jay-z and alicia keys performance. why? is she jay-z relative?...no. did she sign with jay's label?...no.

but that's not the only question i have. the other one is what the (expletive deleted) was lady gaga wearing? that question isn't necessarily specific to the vma's just in general...

well, i gotta put kanye back in his dog house. "bad kanye, bad! now get in the house."

peace
