two thousand ten

Well, here we are again, another year, another decade. Optimism about the future is tempered with a nagging sense that underlying factors causing most of the misery in the world still exist. --DJ Shadow

2010, and it's about time that I hit you upside the head with another one of these postings. In the year 2010 these "blogs" will only be known as postings as far as this blog goes (watch me break my word in two months).

Let me be clear right now, we got a lot of problems in this world: the economy, terrorism still, Haiti.

Haiti is apparently really messed up right now. Anderson Cooper is in Haiti right now, probably with Wyclef. Pat Robertson is acting a fool blaming the Haitians from hundreds of years ago for this earthquake. Pat Robertson...is it me, or is his head just a little too big for his body and the television screen?...I mean, I'm just saying. We are currently treating Haiti like it's worse than New Orleans...which is true. Many people are on the bandwagon...the Red Cross is accepting donations. But after what happened in New Orleans with Katrina, I'm a little skeptical of the Red Cross. Don't get it twisted, I love the Red Cross, they have been a wonderful organization for many, many years, but their greed and lack of action wound up doing more negative than positive. So if you do donate, do so through smaller foundations and through people who are closer to the situation...in other words, do your homework.

I'm currently scraping bottom in my bank account right now because of the holidays so I can't donate as of yet.

What else happened...oh yeah, people tried to blow up planes again, this time using their crotches...but we may get into that later.

After the fall tour, I flew down to Florida, stayed there for about a week, drove up to Alabama and had Christmas and New Year's with my family and my g/f Liz (she's the reason I flew to Florida, shameless plug sort of). After that, Liz and I drove back to Florida and I spent that week with her, celebrating her birthday with a crazy party filled with people and fun times, only to fly to New York by the next morning.

I failed to mention that (blowing up planes with crotch-bomb tangent), I flew out of Tallahasse to NY, the airport is incredibly small, I was wearing my Montevallo hoodie (gotta represent); anyway, I got the ol' pat down and my bag was searched twice. So, that was my holiday, how was yours?

But really, I had a great time seeing my family on the holiday for the first time in years. I only wish that my pocket was as big as my heart (awwwwwww).

Before I go any further: anybody need a place in NY to live, holler (or holla) at me.

Moving on, I think that it's important to think back on the year that was and remember what you really enjoyed about it. 365 days, not all of it was terrible, you dig? Think back on the good times, and now realize where you are in life and...you know what? I'm really bad at this type of thing, plus I don't follow my own advice half the time; so the best that I can say is in 2010, get it the best you can. Make d@mn yourself happy, you dig?

I'm back on tour trying to make the most of it. I'm trying to make the most money possible and have the most fun I can. We're supposedly going to be in Phoenix, AZ and Philly as well as a number of other places/metropolitan areas. I'm with two people that seem to be great so far. I'm looking forward to what the road may bring in this year.

Keep a look out for the next "posting" coming in a few days. Holla!
